Gift Cycle

eyes of faith
trust what they see

bronze snakes
become anti-venom

broken bodies
house healed spirits

belief certifies
deeds and outcomes

incarnation interprets
chaos’ intentionality

and our crisis
is mistrusting our trust

for deep below
belief is transient

faith does falter
certainty stumble

first new glasses
and then new eyes

holy and profane
dive again to the deep

surfacing in new trust
beyond one or the other

beyond volitional choice
into blessed gift
